Dr Nathan Pictor | BMBS, MRCGP - Founder & Lead GP
-
Originally from Southern England, I found my home in North Wales over a decade ago.
Since moving here my path through medicine hasn't been a direct one; I spent years moving through various hospital specialties, following curiosity and learning from clinicians I respected and admired. This "broad-lens" approach — ranging from rural hospital wards and home visits, to high-dependency COVID units, taught me that while medicine is a science, healing is an art.
I founded The Good Practice because I believe the current medical model is losing its most important ingredient: the human narrative.
My goal is simple: to provide the patient, curious, and relational care that our community deserve.
-
I sit down with you and we evaluate the every aspect of your physical, mental and emotional health, looking for clues that might help us to better structure your medical narrative. These sessions aim to diagnose but more importantly contextualise your difficulties within your wider life.
-
Men, Women and Non-binary people have vastly different physical, hormonal and social needs and these can often be overlooked or under-appreciated. These things deserve time and understanding before rushing to investigations and treatment. I want to work with you to better understand how these things can work together for and against you.
-
I translate confusing medical letters, reports and investigations into something that you can actually understand and use to better understand your health and advocate for yourself.
-
I carry out a thorough medical review with you and we assess the pros and cons of each of your medications, clearly documenting their purpose and how they affect you physically and mentally.
-
If you’re housebound or elderly, or have elderly relatives and don’t live locally, I can carry out home visits to check in on your/their ongoing needs and continually re-assess the need for certain medications with the goal of improving overall quality of life.
